Perché non isfogate il fier dolore

This piece was born from a collaborative project with fellow composers and performers I met during a residency at the Domaine Forget in 2022. From our encounter emerged the idea of creating several concert works that would share a common source of inspiration. We chose Lagrime mie by Barbara Strozzi because, although this Baroque piece is nearly 400 years old, its text still resonates today.

Despair in the face of an uncontrollable situation, the holding back of tears, the effort to contain one’s emotions, the desperate search for a solution that never comes. And despite everything, the hope that endures.
